The owners, Giulio and Maria De Simone originate form a small town close to Sorrento in Southern Italy. Giulio and his family came to live and work in Cambridge in 1964. During the late 60s and 70s Giulio worked in various Restaurants around the City, including The Turks Head, The Old Dot and The Copper Kettle.

La Pergola is a family run venture. Rosa, Giulio’s daughter, manages the day –to day running of the Restaurant as well as helping Giulio in the kitchen. Her husband, Domenico, manages the front of house. Tony, Giulio’s son, looks after the Bar. Maria is responsible for making the homemade bread and pickles.
